An awareness-based drawing competition was organized by the voluntary organization “PUNARBASA” with the aim of creating awareness and sensitivity towards persons with disabilities among school students. Every year, 3rd December is observed as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. To promote an inclusive outlook towards persons with disabilities in society, PUNARBASA — an organization working for therapeutic services and the empowerment of persons with disabilities in Kendrapara district — organizes such competitions annually.

The theme of the drawing competition was “Picture of an Integrated Society.” Along with students from general schools, students with disabilities studying in special schools also participated enthusiastically in the programme.

On behalf of the organization, Advisor Biraj Routray, Vice-President Jyoti Ranjana Nayak, Treasurer Shivcharan Samal, and members Mohammad Zahid Khan and Swapnanshu Kumar Das were present and encouraged the participating students.

The competition was coordinated by Sanjiv Kumar Jena, D.T. Goutam Behera, Kedarnath Barik, Rajendra Mohapatra, Parvat Kumar Samal, and Sangram Nayak, while photographer Rasmi Ranjan Barik served as the judge for the event.
